Business honour for Raincliffe School
RAINCLIFFE School in Scarborough is one of only 51 educational establishments in the country to be selected to take part in a major new national initiative.
The school, which has business and enterprise college status, was chosen to take part in Young Chamber, a scheme which aims to give 11 to 19 year olds a greater understanding of the world of business.
The aim of the initiative is to give young people a say on the issues which affect the local economic environment by creating better relationships between schools, chambers of commerce and business networks.
Sharon Balding, business manager for Raincliffe School, said: “We are very pleased to be selected as one of the first Young Chambers in the country; this is an exciting and innovative project to be involved with.
“Young Chamber will provide a unique experience for our students, and be a vital and real link between school and the world of business.
